Lindsey Elias is a Nashville based indie pop/rock artist and songwriter. Her debut EP, Parachute, is set to release in September of 2013. Prior to her EP, Lindsey signed a publishing deal with Published Integriti in the fall of 2012.

Her upcoming EP could not be more appropriately named; the central theme centers on taking a leap of faith, in all different areas of life:

Naming the EP "Parachute" was a no brainer – it really sums up exactly where I am at this point in my career. I’m switching gears, diving into a whole new side of myself, and it really does feel like I’m jumping with no parachute. And that’s something that all of the songs touch on, whether it’s light hearted or serious.

A Michigan native, Lindsey started performing at the young age of 4, but it wasn’t until college she discovered a love for songwriting. As a music education major, she found herself spending hours on a piano, writing songs. During that time she opened for Detroit based and touring bands. She moved to Nashville in 2008 to pursue a songwriting career, at that time focused on country music. Over the years she spent developing her craft, she found herself heading in another direction musically, finding a home in the indie singer/songwriter world. Parachute highlights the musical influences she has had over the years.

I’ve always been a huge Keith Urban fan, and really find myself adding a dramatic flair to most of my songs like he does. Boston is another influence; I want to rock, and play 8 minute songs like they do! NEEDTOBREATHE is a band I’m crazy about, I like how I feel like I’m on a roller coaster with their music, and that’s something I try to put into mine as well.

Lindsey is planning a 2014 East Coast tour with Nashville based musicians. She’s looking forward to her first time heading out onto the road, meeting new people, and sharing her music.
